I do not even dare to imagine how it would feel if Helena and I had not sorted out our house before these crazy times. It now feels so much lighter and pleasant!
After an enriching discussion about the why and how I want to approach this project, Helena and I spent more than 70 hours together decluttering and organizing our home across several categories – clothing, paper, books, kitchen and our messy kids’ playroom.
Not only has it led to a much simpler and more tidy house, it has also changed my mindset. I buy much less (I felt almost embarrassed when I saw how MANY pieces of clothes I possessed!), I immediately get rid of things that I do not use anymore (in a sustainable way) and I am teaching my children to become much more aware of what they really need. As a family we find things now more easily and my kids (5 and 9) have even found joy in folding their own clothes and regularly declutter their newly organized rooms.
I could not have done it without Helena – having a sparring partner on the side to get support, inspiration, be challenged, laugh and simply – keep on going – was one of the key success factors for me.
